About Us
Who We Are
At Shore Pine Psychiatry, we believe that mental health care is most effective when it is grounded in trust, collaboration, and genuine human connection. Seeking support can feel vulnerable, and our goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable bringing your whole self without fear of judgment or pressure to fit into a diagnosis.
We provide psychiatric care for teens and adults throughout Massachusetts, offering both medication management and psychotherapy through in-person and telehealth appointments. Our practice serves individuals experiencing ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), PTSD and trauma-related concerns, addiction and recovery, sleep difficulties, and adjustment-related challenges.
We recognize that every person's experiences, strengths, and goals are different. Rather than applying the same treatment approach to everyone, we take time to understand your story, identify what matters most to you, and develop a plan that reflects your individual needs. Whether your goal is symptom relief, greater emotional resilience, improved relationships, or simply feeling more like yourself again, our role is to support you with thoughtful, evidence-based care that evolves alongside you.
Above all, we want our clients to leave appointments feeling informed, understood, and empowered, not just treated.
Our Philosophy
We believe psychiatric care should be collaborative rather than prescriptive.
Medication can be an incredibly valuable tool, but it is rarely the whole answer. Lasting wellbeing is often built through a combination of biological, psychological, and lifestyle factors that work together over time. For that reason, our approach integrates medication management, psychotherapy, and holistic wellness into a personalized treatment plan designed around your unique circumstances.
We also believe that informed patients make better decisions. We prioritize education, transparency, and shared decision making so you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, and the reasoning behind every recommendation. Questions are encouraged, concerns are welcomed, and your preferences remain central throughout the treatment process.
While we value evidence-based medicine, we never lose sight of the individual sitting in front of us. Research guides our recommendations, but your lived experience guides your care.
Why Shore Pine?
The Shore Pine tree inspired both our name and our philosophy of care.
Native to coastal environments, Shore Pines are known for their ability to withstand changing conditions while remaining deeply rooted. They adapt to shifting winds, difficult terrain, and unpredictable seasons, not by resisting change, but by growing with it.
We believe resilience develops in much the same way.
Mental health is not about eliminating every challenge or always feeling your best. It is about building the capacity to adapt, recover, and continue moving forward through life's inevitable changes. Healing rarely follows a straight path, and growth often happens gradually through small, meaningful steps rather than dramatic transformations.
Like the Shore Pine, we hope to help our clients cultivate deeper roots, greater flexibility, and the confidence to weather life's challenges while continuing to grow.
What to Expect
From your first appointment onward, our goal is to create a treatment experience that feels thoughtful, collaborative, and individualized.
You can expect:
A thorough evaluation that considers your symptoms, medical history, relationships, lifestyle, and personal goals, not just a checklist of diagnoses.
Treatment recommendations grounded in current research and tailored to your unique needs.
Honest conversations about the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives of medications so you can make informed decisions.
A warm, inclusive, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming environment where you are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Ongoing collaboration as your needs evolve, with treatment plans adjusted over time rather than remaining static.
Practical support that extends beyond symptom management, helping you build sustainable habits, resilience, and a greater understanding of yourself.
Our hope is that each appointment leaves you with greater clarity, confidence, and a sense that you are working with someone, not simply receiving care from someone.
